Meet Emancipate NC- Black Philanthropy Month

Organization Name: Emancipate NC

What is your mission?: Through community education, narrative shift, and litigation, Emancipate NC supports North Carolina’s people as they free themselves from mass incarceration and structural racism.

What are you working on now?: We are working on a campaign for alternative crisis response in Raleigh, combatting police brutallity, mental health in prison, anti-solitary confinement, Don’t Plead to Weed, and Family Defense.

How can the community best assist you?: Attend our upcoming events circulate our petition for Raleigh HEART, join the Raleigh HEART campaign, get linked to our people organizing in Wallace, Elizabeth City, and Greenville, help us advocate for an end to family policing in Durham, donate, and share our work.
