Meet Sistories - Black Philanthropy Month

Organization Name: Sistories

What is your mission? : We believe the archival narratives of Southern Black women and femmes hold the keys to unpacking how systems of oppression affect our bodies, communities, and spirits. Through art of developing, sharing, and studying our stories we mobilize our voices in the fight for liberation.

What are you working on now? : We just released issue III of our award-winning interactive Black feminist literary magazine featuring some truly amazing southern storytellers and artists, and hosted the first workshops in our corresponding summer series.

We’re also getting our fall workshop calendar together and planning for our very first staff retreat to take place during the first Southern Black Writers Conference.

Lastly, we’re working to digitally archive audio recordings of the first two issues of Sistories Litmag and are excited to release that offering to the community as a podcast later this year. Stay tuned!

How can the community best assist you? : Pre-order a FREE print of The Hereafter Issue.
